Instructions for Marchers
For those participating in the mass it begins at 11:00 am at St. Vito’s Roman Catholic Church, 816 Underhill Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY 10543
The start time for the parade is 1:30 pm; please plan to arrive no later than 12:30 pm.
There will be a registration station (beginning at noon) set up between Mavis Discount Tire and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, located near 827 Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY. At the check in station, you will check in with a committee member to get your position in the lineup and you will be directed to your specific staging point. You will also collect wristbands for access to the Hospitality Tent at the end of the parade route in Harbor Island Park. Complimentary refreshments are for marchers only.
A shuttle service will be available to take marchers back and forth from the staging area surrounding Mamaroneck Avenue School (850 Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY), and the end of the parade at Harbor Island (located at the intersection of Mamaroneck Ave and Boston Post Rd.) there is parking available in both locations. Please note that, due to heavy snow accumulations the number of parking spaces may be compromised please allow for extra time.
During the march, Irish dance schools and bands are requested to stop and do a brief performance in front of the reviewing stand.
Please confirm the approximate number of marchers you expect to be in your group that day.
If appropriate, please forward a brief description of your organization for the parade MC, such as the history or founding of the group, or its mission statement.
Once marchers are situated in the staging area near Mamaroneck Avenue School prior to the start of the parade, buses and other modes of transportation will be directed down to the parking lot in Harbor Island Park. The parade route ends at Harbor Island so this will facilitate easy pickup of your group.
We expect the parade route, which starts near the intersection of Nostrand and Mamaroneck Avenues, to take approximately 30 minutes to walk.
For any fire departments with apparatus, or participants with floats, keep in mind that there is a railway trestle to pass underneath on the parade route. The clearance is 10 ft. 11 in. Please let us know in advance if you cannot clear this, and we can arrange for you to be rerouted.
Insurance prohibits marchers from tossing candy, beads, souvenirs, etc., to spectators along the parade route.
The parade is a go, rain or shine.
