2025 Grand Marshal
Matt McCauley
The Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is proud to announce Matthew J. McCauley as the 2025 Grand Marshal. Matt will lead the 13th annual Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 29, 2025, as its official Parade Grand Marshal. This year’s parade will pay special tribute to 9/11 First Responders, including those who are ill or have passed away from illnesses resulting from their heroic efforts in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
About Matthew J. McCauley
Matt grew up in the Sound Shore community, attending Jefferson Elementary, Isaac Young Middle School, and New Rochelle High School. While still in high school, he served as a Volunteer Firefighter in Pelham Manor and later worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, and New York City Police Officer by the age of 20.
A graduate of Iona College (1996) and Pace University School of Law (2001), Matt became a 9/11 First Responder at Ground Zero. Following the attacks, he emerged as a tireless advocate for healthcare and compensation benefits for 9/11 First Responders, playing a pivotal role in the creation and reauthorizations of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act. Working closely with advocates such as John Feal and Jon Stewart, Matt helped secure essential benefits for responders and their families.
Today, Matt serves the 9/11 community through his law firm, Turken, Heath & McCauley LLP, representing First Responders and Survivors. He is a member of the Executive Board of the First Responders Children’s Foundation and serves on the Board for the 9/11 Responders Remembered Park. Locally, he co-chairs the Westchester County September 11 First Responders Memorial. Recognized for his advocacy, Matt has received awards including the Iona College Alumni Association’s Humanitarian Award and honors from several first responder and law enforcement organizations.
As Grand Marshal, Matt aims to honor the legacy of 9/11 First Responders and unite the Sound Shore community in recognizing their sacrifices and contributions.
